International Property Awards 2010

Gina Xanthaki has received international awards in the field of real estate development. Elounda Island View Villas, an exclusive residential development project in Eastern Crete with 7 ultra-luxurious residences by IVV Ltd, received in its first year of operation three major awards by the Committee of the International Property Awards in 2010.

The awards were announced at a special ceremony at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel in London, in collaboration with the Bloomberg television network and the New York Times, Frankfurter Allgemeine and International Herald Tribune newspapers. Elounda Island View Villas won two important 5* awards in the categories of Best Architecture (Multiple Units) and Best Interior Design, while also securing a Highly Commended distinction in the Best Development category. The evaluation was carried out by an international jury of 44 members, on the basis of criteria such as concept originality, architectural design, innovation, quality of services, design and decoration.

The love of Gina Xanthaki for her land, Crete, led her in 2014 to create a photo album dedicated to the multiple facets of the island of Spinalonga, which stands opposite the village of Plaka, with photos that were taken at all times of the day and in all seasons of the year. The album, which is bilingual (Greek and English), was published by Livanis publications, in support of nominating Spinalonga as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

​​Gina Xanthaki’s idea to create the album with Spinalonga as the main theme was carried out by international award-winning photographer Yannis Tzortzis, a member of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain. The photographs were accompanied by texts by Nikos Kazantzakis from his works The Fratricides, Report to Greco, and Ascèse. The photo album ‘Spinalonga Through My Eyes’ won the award in the ‘Art’ category at the 2015 Public Book Awards.
